The attached documents are what you may need to get advice about from UNISON - Contact branch Secretary Malcolm Key if you need advice:

The first appeals to be heard are those which had a bench-mark or "sample" status. Only when those are decided will the remaining appeals be invited.
When your appeal is invited you should receive the above documents plus your own score per "factor" in the original evaluation. If you do not receive these, contact the branch immediately.
To find documents relating to Job Evaluation from the Town Clerks' Department, go to the internal W: drive and under File Transfer look for the UNISON folder.
Due to the difficulty of finding any information about JE on the City of London Intranet, the Unison branch has put the latest reports in the public area:-
W:\File Transfer\UNISON
This is only available to employees of the City of London Corporation.
THE PROCESS AS PROMISED
- Postholders will be issued with the results of their evaluation, together with copies of the Factor Plan and Conventions document, such that they will be able to assess the levels awarded to them under each factor of the scheme.
- If the post holder disagrees with the results there is a right to appeal. This appeal will be put before the evaluation panel and at this stage the post holder may submit further details in support of his/her appeal.
- The panel will report back its decision to the post holder. If the post holder is still not satisfied with the outcome a further appeal may be made to an independent panel, but, this time, no further evidence may be put forward.
- Stage 3 of the evaluation programme will see the remaining City of London Corporation jobs compared with or measured against jobs which have been evaluated in Stages 1 and 2. This will be done using up-to-date job descriptions, person specifications and organisation charts for the posts in question.
- Those people whose jobs have been matched by this process will in turn be given detail of their evaluation and proposed grade and may, in turn, appeal against the results. The Stage 3 evaluations are timetabled to be completed by September 2007.
- The evaluations and new pay structure are expected to take effect in October 2007.

Town Clerks proudly hands out the extra 50p a week pay rise!
Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to let you know that all parties have now signed the formal Collective Agreement on Pay and Grading. This means that the additional 0.25% which was offered can now be paid bringing the total cost of living increase from 1 July 2007 to 2.75%. Payroll have confirmed that any additional pay that is due will appear in the April payslip. This also means that annual leave for those staff on 23 days will increase to 24 with immediate effect.
Further work is being undertaken on the buy-out of the April increment and issuing of the current Written Statement of Particulars which we will update everyone about next week.
Regards.
Chris Duffield
